How does a sewage pumping station work?
A pump station is a tank that receives wastewater until it reaches a certain level, then a mechanism pumps the wastewater uphill to the sewage treatment plant or septic tank.
It’s necessary to install a sewage pump station where gravity alone is unable to transport wastewater to the sewage treatment plant or septic tank. Each pump chamber contains three float switches which are linked to a control panel that automatically controls flow and levels.
